A Day with My Dad: From junk, to a bowl of braised beef
Mar 26th, 2007 by SniperAngel
I started the day with cold coffee and several pandesals with bacon spread. My dad told me we need to fix his proposed junk shop business. The old piggery will be the pit stop for the junkies [those who will give us the collected loots].
My dad is your typical father figure. Determined, firm and sometimes strict. He has very good work ethics and is one of my living inspirations. Though we don’t talk that often [because he is strict nga], we had some quality time cleaning the piggy house for the whole day.
Junk shop business is setting a trend nowadays. It may sound dirty, but when you know its potentials and benefits I’m sure you won’t think about the dirt again. It cleans the surroundings from almost all rubbish, from empty mineral water bottles, condensed milk cans, to beer bottles. It will help the planet, even though its just a minute portion of what is removed as of now. It will make mother nature smile a bit that we humans are making means to clean her, and earn as well.
My dad has big plans for us. He works hard for the family and is very very faithful to Him, no wonder at the age of 50 he still looks somewhere in mid-thirties and he is very wise, biblically and socially. That’s why I’m so happy when I passed the board exam, so despite my brat-ness I was able to make my dad proud.
What is braised beef doing at the title? Braised beef is my favorite Chowking dish. It is a good dish [prejudiced haha]. It feels warm and hearty when I consume a merienda bowl. It brings back happy moments [so don't get surprised when I'm staring blankly into space while eating o.o].
