It is a laggy night, but no matter I still went online to roam around Midgard. Since most of my guildmates are already sleeping, I went to Glast Heim alone. There I skimmed through Abysmal Knights and other monsters. Surprisingly, at the end of the map close to the portal I got an Alice Card. As I checked its illustration…

it shows an Alice sweeping the dusty Glast Heim floor while four Raydrics fantasize at her, staring and falling for her from afar. Struck by imagination, I was able to write a short story.

Glast Heim is a very rich and noble kingdom. The knights guard the kingdom against intruding Petites and Kobolds. The marbled floors are well maintained by young ladies in frenchmaid uniforms.

Cedric is a commander in chief of the chivalry division. A true man of valor, he is a dependable warrior and brought many victories to the kingdom. Alicia is a newly-hired maiden that was assigned to maintain cleanliness to the main kingdom hall. Everytime Cedric reports to the King, he always see Alicia sweeping the floor or perhaps wiping the stained glass windows. Alicia secretly looks at his brave glacier eyes and imagines the two of them together, strolling at the flowery fields of Mt. Mjolnir.

One time, the entire chivalry had an assignment to observe the activities in Sograt Desert. It was reported that Desert Wolves start to attack Morroc frequently. As Cedric prepares his weapons, Alicia stares from afar whispering to the wind that her love to take care as he starts his journey.

As the troop reached the Sograt Desert, they prepared a small campsite and slept. Little they know, the demons in Niffleheim is preparing for an attack.

Cedric’s troop started the morning with a bloody encounter with a huge pack of Desert Wolves. It ended quickly because of his excellent strategy. With strong happiness that drives his heart, they went home. After this victory, he now got the courage to tell that maiden how much he loved her. How much he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

As they enter the Glast Heim gates, there was a deafening silence. Cedric knew there is something wrong. He rushed to the main hall and to his horror, saw the blood-spattered floor. Several bodies of dead maidens and mercenaries lie infront of him.

His body froze. His mouth can’t release a word as he saw Alicia’s body at the side of the main staircase. Her blood-soaken apron and mangled broom screams what has happened to her. He kneeled at her and cried silently. He embraced her cold body as his tears blotted his mail. He lifted her body and laid it at the garden and encricled it with flowers.

The skies opened up and a Valkyrie came out of the clouds. She came to fetch Alicia and the other maidens who died in the attack of Niffleheim demons. Cedric talked with the Valkyrie, asked what he can do just to resurrect her. The Valkyrie said she needs a soul, but his divine love is enough so he must surrender his physical body.

Without thinking twice, he agreed. With a wave of her hand, Alicia’s body was embraced by a blinding flash of light. As her body went back to the ground, she slowly opened her eyes and rose. But Cedric is nowhere to be found.

She looked around her, and saw a small shining metal nut. She examined it and realized it is cam from Cedric’s helm because it is clean and shiny. She tried to find him, but he’s gone.

She went to the fountain and started to cry. She cried because she didn’t have enough courage to tell him what her heart beats from the start, how much she loved him and how much she longed for him.

And now, as the Kingdom started to rise from the tragedy Alicia went back to her normal routine. Cedric? he was granted with a curse to be a blank faceless armor by Valkyrie. This is the best thing she can grant him.
