Manic Monday: Late and Presidency
Oct 1st, 2007 by SniperAngel

This is a very unexpected day. It was raining the whole day and it seem slow for a busy and upbeat Monday, but I got some unexpected turn of events that being late for the day did not bother me anymore.
I arrived twelve minutes late for my rotation at the Chemotherapy Unit of the hospital, because I had a hard time catching a ride. The nurse in charge for the day is a bit strict, a lot stricter than my previous rotations like the Wing 2b and Emergency Room. But despite that strictness I’ve learned a lot from her especially one particular quote “Don’t over analyze things, keep it simple.” Ouch. I’m very very very cautious with details and analysis, but hearing that from her made me think for a minute. She’s right. I might need to loosen some buttons to breathe easier.
We’re required to submit a charting copy and a written report about the duties, but I was a bit disappointed because the presentation was canceled. I subconsciously slammed my hands on my desk with disappointment because I prepared for it for a couple of days. But anyway, the other groups were stunned to see I produced fifteen pages compared to their page-long reports. Thesis ba ito?
This is the oddest part of the day, the bi-monthly meeting. The first part of the meeting is the election of officers. After the nomination for president is opened I got a weird thinking and I said “God, kung ipapanominate mo ko dyan siguraduhin mong mananalo ako.” Oh my goodness, He reacted faster than a speeding bullet. My classmate tapped my hand and said sorry as she raised her hand and nominated me. My competition? let’s just say the other three are all influential. As the counting started this was the odd result:
James- 15
Malvin- 8
Neil- 7
Maricar- 2
Oh that is so.. unlikely. Some of my classmates are on a hard campaigning session for Malvin or Neil. Our adviser said that the President should be able to bring the group together and be able to listen and explain well, in short a diplomat. My speech? Not that long, but I thanked the fifteen people who trusted me with their votes.
This instance happened few months ago as I was assigned to be the Incident Commander of my batch in the Philippine National Red Cross, despite my unlikely appearance of being immature and “weak”. But it all pays off, just watch me work.
So there, I’ll be able to update my blog from time to time because I’m on uwian basis starting today.
