By the time I opened my eyes earlier, the first thing that came to my mind is how will Team Philippines fare on Ragnarok World Championship. I was busy tackling some church activities so I was a bit late by the time I received the news. Team Philippines gets 2nd Runner Up.

Eleven extremely competitive countries, seven players per country, almost limitless party combinations from thirteen character classes. One tough road to victory. The pressure is so intense I can feel it miles away. I mean, if you are a hardcore gamer you would be able to feel this intensity. Almost ten thousand gamers waiting for one positive result- to become the champion. Well, we almost got it. 2nd runner up is still one of the top spots, and without intense practice sessions, motivation and innate passion to play the game they might not even reach the semis. It makes me proud even if it is just a game, well an interactive MMO that is. The game na parang laban ng totoong buhay.

While reading Waukster and other relevant sites and blogs I can see numerous negative feedbacks pointing out “bakit 2nd runner up lang? you should have done better?”.

Honestly I wanna strangle them one by one. No signs of contentment and they are only good at pointing out the mistakes and failures. They should be at least proud, it is 2nd runner up and that is not “lang”.

Congratulations Team Philippines. The Filipino circle of gamers is so proud of you. If there are some who are not, dun lang sila magaling eh. So don’t mind them. God Bless and more power.
