Thankful Tuesday

I’m sorry for the entry delays, I’ve been busy for the past few days so the updates are a bit late. Last Tuesday I was about to file my final application requirements in NKTI, the medical institution I’m planning to pursue my training. Out of hundreds of applicants, seventeen came back that morning. But out of seventeen, only eleven “survived” the strict requirements. I’m the seventh and the youngest applicant.
I can’t believe how fresh graduates changed these days. They are so “mapangmataas” already despite the fact that they have not proven anything, in terms of experience. This is what I’ve observed on my co-applicants as they talk in a chin-up manner. Oh well, it is what their egos are fed of.
By the time my name was called, everybody looked at me. As I entered the office I greeted the director and she offered me a seat. My requirements are complete but there is one thing that extremely prolonged the interview, my back problem. A part of being a nurse is to lift heavy patients and assist them on ambulation, the director is a bit worried I might not be able to do these duties. I said I’ll still try. “Hintayin ko na lang po may mag-crack” I said to myself. After 40minutes, I got my contract and everyone outside was shocked. A typical interview that day lasts for about 5minutes at most.
I’m very thankful that I got the position. I’ll be under the hospital’s wings for about four months and it will end by December. By then I’m planning to pursue it further, to be part of the actual staff.
