I’m currently listening to David Archuleta’s rendition of Imagine by John Lennon while I’m composing this emotional blog entry. Emotional, because this is so unfair. But still..
I’ve launched a Ragnarok related event entitled The Midgard Scholar 2008. Click the link for the details. For players of Ragnarok Online to the heart, this is an event that could be well appreciated. But to my horror, it was bashed, scrutinized, and brewed an unexpected conflict of interests, and opinions. As my co-staffs in Ragnabarkadahan told me that insecurity is evident, and trolls are just pulling me down. The advertisement thread is so hot, it had 1000+ views during its 4th day, was closed and then re-opened.
Lifting my head up, I would like to thank all those who supported my event, and all other events that I’ve organized. To the one I love and always inspired me to be better, to my co-staffs in Ragnabarkadahan especially Crystal, Dave and Arcite. To Variance, Nikumanju, Mai, Leviant and other supporters of this event. To Delicious Cake who defended the event even if it placed his relationship with his co-moderators in peril. I owe you my respect and you have my support. To GM Tristan who approved the event when I showed the promotional video to him [made through the excellent skills of JazzyMicz]. To the trolls who made the thread sensational, to the critics and to those who felt insecure, sorry if I stepped upon your crippled egos. Get a life.
Honestly, I’m planning this long ago, but I’ve decided that The Midgard Scholar 2008 will be my final event. After that I’ll be resigning as the Ragnabarkadahan’s Board Event Organizer and to sink in again as your ordinary citizen of Midgard. This decision is running through my head for months now, it is almost final [about 90%] I’m just looking for one specific sign if this is going to be a hundred percent or a zero percent. Too bad I already have a whole year of events planned for my life in Midgard, both iRL and OL.

It’s a shame that such a great event has been undeservedly bashed and criticized. And it’s such a bigger shame that you’re considering resigning from your post. I can’t think of anyone who can match the amount of effort, dedication, and creativity you bring to your post as BEO.
And I’m saying all this, not as someone who shares your love, but as a citizen of Midgard.
Shame shame … what a shame. Aww … I was so looking forward to this event pa naman.

Err I didn’t say that the event will no longer push through. The advertisement thread in Ragnaboards was locked, but the event won’t stop there.
