The Online Battle that I’m proud that I’ve won: The Honor of being a Biochemist
Sep 17th, 2007 by SniperAngel

In Ragnarok Online, we have this thing called as “patch season” where a forecast is made to determine which class is “in” next patch. This forecasting sequence is never a good breeze to reach the souls of those who play as an Alchemist- the class that is considered to be one of, if not the weakest class in the game. As a Valkyrie served Odin, I had the same feeling leading a group of almost hopeless people in searching for that gleaming light.

After the launch of Juno patch years back, I was one of the first Alchemists to appear in Prontera after a grueling job-change procedure. Actually while doing the quest I had this lingering thought to discontinue because the skills that I am expecting to be activated is not even there. What I have? Axe Mastery, some weird bottle related skills and dainty bat-cape. It all went there. And I thought the Alchemist population will grow eventually to see its effectiveness, but I was disappointed when I see people being careless with their builds and just go vending in Prontera. Alchemist is the epitome of profit and business that time.

Many patches have passed and still no signs of hope for this underrated class. I almost got my aura for my first Alchemist, and would be much faster if there is actually a clear path, but nothing happened. The hope started to diminish, as a silver starts to tarnish because there is no clear future for this class.

As the Transcendence Patch arrived, we got an upgrade hurray. A dainty costume and two totally supportive skills. -_-. I’m telling you, a Biochemist shortly after the trascendence patch is a mere protective sentinel that cannot fight or defend himself. It is the class that is considered to be melee in nature but supportive in calling. What’s the use of Mammonite anyway.

But like education, the root is bitter but the path of patience to bear fruit is sweet. Very sweet on our case. As kRO released plans for Lighthalzen and the skill updates, the Biochemist class is absolutely one of the beneficiaries of greatest buffs.
Because of this anticipation, I created a guide that is 40% theory and 60% faith. This is The Biochemist with a Wizard’s Heart. A guide that tackles peculiar builds before the skill Acid Bomb was released. But I pushed thru with this project, because I love the class so much and I want to help. Domination is, well, a part of it. My latest Biochemical share is The Basic Homunculus Guide.
Resbak is here. This is extremely, totally, wholeheartedly true with regards to the Biochemist Class. A class that endured so much underrating and downs. A class that bloomed so late that it was only sensationalized after Lighthalzen.
The skills Acid Bomb and Homunculus placed this class to the pedestal for a couple of patches. Considered to be a one man army, and can contend even with powerful melee classes like Lord Knights and Assassins. A truly from zero to hero story. And of course this is evident with the LU Live 2006 where even the commentators like Dj_BB were amazed with the Biochemical power.

Along with these guides, is God’s faithful hands. He introduced me to a person that I never expected to be a part of my life. My twinfame, my love, my girlfriend. Where passion bridges and endures everything that is like a godly concoction of fate. God is the greatest Creator [Creator is the class name of Biochemists pre-Lighthalzen].
Because of being a Biochemist, I gained so much friends. I became known for being a part of lifting up the tortured spirit of being an Alchemist. And it feels so light just thinking about it. Makes me proud and contented.
It feels so good to help other gamers who share the same passion the way I do. To live and grow as a Biochemist, to strive for scientific excellence. This is my greatest Ragnarok Online journey, and I’m proud of it.
This is my final journey with GM Tristan Online’s Group Writing Project. I enjoyed the six weeks, it makes me feel close to my second home called cyberspace.

And I am so proud of you. A pioneer, advocate, motivator, and pillar of knowledge for the Alchemist class right from the beginning; I’m sure that there would be countless who would agree when I say that you are the best mentor any alchemical enthusiast could ask for. You have always had the selflessness and patience to share all you know. Thank you, angel… for being my mentor, my best friend, my twinflame… and most of all for being the best boyfriend in the world. *hugs*
